Arsenal set to bank ‘£100million’ payout – Kieran Maguire

Arsenal are set to earn a total of £100million from their Champions League campaign this season.

That is the view of finance expert Kieran Maguire, who exclusively told Football Insider that prize money, matchday income and sponsorship bonuses will take Arsenal’s Champions League earnings to a nine-figure sum.

The Gunners crashed out of Europe last week after losing 3-2 on aggregate to Bayern Munich in the quarter-finals.

It was the first time the North London outfit took part in the Champions League since their campaign in the 2016-17 season.

As revealed by Football Insider, Arsenal will land a payout of over £65million in prize money alone according to official Uefa documentation.

Arsenal Champions League campaign to provide ‘£100m uplift’

It will provide a major boost for the club’s 2023-24 financial accounts and increase their ability to spend on transfers under current Profit and Sustainability Rules.

Maguire explained that Arsenal will also profit from matchday income and sponsorship bonuses due to their progress in Europe.

Chelsea got to the quarter-finals last year and they had prize money of around £65million (€75 million),” Maguire told Football Insider’s Sean Fisher.

Arsenal won’t get as much as that because their 10-year coefficient is actually quite poor.

But even so, I’d expect them to be banking a substantial amount.

On top of that, they will take home £5million from each match at the Emirates and they had five matches there.

With bonuses from sponsors also adding to the total, Arsenal will be looking at a £100million uplift compared to seasons not in Europe.
