Manager Andy Dixon reflects on our 2–4 home defeat to Matlock Town in the league.
Despite the scoreline, Dixon says he's “really proud of the players” after a much-improved performance, with the squad responding well to work on the training ground on Tuesday and Thursday.
He discusses:
• The reaction to last week and playing more football on the deck
• Why he felt his side was the better team at half-time
• The controversial refereeing decisions – an offside first goal, the referee blocking a defender for the second, and Robbie's red card
• Impressive displays from Dale, Jack Blackford, Robbie, James and Mets
• The impact of missing Javi and the search for more forward options
• Why does he still see this as a positive step and a platform to build on for Tuesday night
Dixon praises the togetherness, character and attitude in the dressing room and insists that if the team keeps performing like this – and decisions start going their way – results will follow and they'll move away from the bottom of the table.
