Although the Clarets suffered a heavy defeat to Manchester City, Jaidon Anthony was pleased with the side's performance up until around the hour mark, but admits they were 'punished' when given chances on goal.
The hosts were ahead through Maxime Esteve's own goal midway through the first-half, before Anthony clawed the scores level with his fourth goal of the Premier League campaign before half-time.
Despite coming out on the front foot in the second-half, Burnley conceded two goals in five minutes on the hour mark, before two stoppage time goals, but Anthony had praise for his teammates and is keen to bounce back from the defeat at the Etihad.
Speaking post-match in Manchester, Anthony said: "Look it was a disappointing day in the end, but they are so clinical infront of goal and they punished us when they got their chances.
"I thought first-half we really dug in and had some good moments, obviously got the goal and went in level at half-time, which is always a positive here.
"Second-half I thought we came out bright, again looked good in the first 10/15 minutes, but then two goals in such a short space of time can take the wind out of your sails a bit.
"I think overall we can be proud of how we came here, pushed to get a result against one of the best teams in the world. We're learning every week and we'll be looking to respond and bounce back next Sunday."
