Our under-18s made it four games without defeat in the U-18 Premier League on Saturday as they secured a valuable 2-1 victory over Leicester City.
There were four changes to the side that drew 0-0 with Fulham one week prior, with James Sweet and Jack Henry-Francis stepping into midfield, while Nathan Butler-Oyedeji and Marcelo Flores returned on the wings.
There was also some positive news on the bench, as Jason Sraha was named in a matchday squad for the first time since picking up an injury back in February.
It took us just five minutes to open the scoring at London Colney when Flores picked up the ball on the left wing and delivered for Sweet, who fired home with a stunning first-time volley.
Ovie Ejeheri then went on to produce a fine save to deny Ethan Fitzhugh, before Alex Kirk was on hand to clear the rebound on the line.
Shortly after, Omari Hutchinson, starting as a wing back, raced down the left and picked out Luke Plange with an inch-perfect cross, but the latter failed to hit the target.
Butley-Oydeji then fizzed a powerful effort just wide of the top corner.
We dominated the opening 45 minutes and shortly after the restart, we double our advantage from a free-kick when Hutchinson deceived the wall and curled a low effort around them and into the bottom corner.
Leicester pulled one back in the 64th minute when Zach Awe inadvertently bundled the ball into his own net, but we stood strong to maintain our lead and secure all three points.
