We were held to a goalless draw by Everton in the Barclays Women's Super League at Emirates Stadium on Sunday.
Katie McCabe fired over the bar from distance with our first chance of the game, before Emily Fox's cross hit the bar after she was found on the right by Lotte Wubben-Moy.
Beth Mead, making her 200th appearance for the club, had the following corner hooked over by Mariona Caldentey.
Mead opted to go short with the next corner, this time finding Kim Little, whose cross evaded everyone but was caught by Courtney Brosnan, who got down to her right on a slick surface as the heavens opened at Emirates Stadium.
Kyra Cooney-Cross showed off some nice footwork when she played one-twos with Caldentey and Alessia Russo in and around the 18-yard box but shot wide of the post.
With Russo putting pressure on Brosnan, Everton gave the ball away to Caldentey and she looked to curl it into the bottom right corner but the shot was caught.
Frida Maanum won the ball and carried us forward just beyond the half-hour mark. She aimed for the bottom left corner, forcing a good save from Brosnan.
Everton came close to taking the lead in the 39th minute as Veatriki Sarri had a shot pushed onto the bar and the roof of the net by Daphne Van Domselaar, before the following corner was headed by Justine Vanhaevermaet towards the bottom left corner, McCabe on hand to clear the danger.
Fox had a couple of chances to open the scoring with half-time approaching, but shot wide of the bottom left corner from distance and then headed over the bar from a McCabe cross.
Maanum fired towards goal with power for our first chance of the second half, but it was straight at Brosnan who caught the ball comfortably.
Jonas Eidevall made a triple change in the 64th minute as Caitlin Foord, Leah Williamson and Stina Blackstenius came on for Fox, Wubben-Moy and Russo.
Another Maanum shot was caught before Foord did well to win a corner and Eidevall got the crowd going, but nothing came of the set-piece.
We continued to push for the opener as Mead's cross was headed back across goal by Little, before Maanum volleyed it over the bar.
Eidevall made two further changes with 13 minutes to go, bringing on Steph Catley and Lia Walti for McCabe and Cooney-Cross.
Caldentey had a shot deflected into Brosnan's gloves and Catley's cross was then volleyed onto the bar by Foord, before a Caldentey cross was headed over by Maanum.
Blackstenius headed over a delivery from Mead in the 93rd minute and were ultimately unable to make the breakthrough.
