India were denied back-to-back wins under Igor Stimac after a late goal helped Afghanistan hold the Blue Tigers to a 1-1 draw at the Jassim Bin Hamad Stadium in Doha.
An own goal from the Afghan goalkeeper gave India the lead. But Hossein Zamani curled home the equaliser with eight minutes left on the clock. The result meant that the side led by Sunil Chhetri would finish third in Group E and secure a place in the third round of the 2023 AFC Asian Cup qualifiers.
